Viacom, Konami Settle Rock Band Lawsuit

Konami and Harmonix parent company Viacom have settled a long-standing dispute over Rock Band and Rock Revolution, according to court documents filed in the Texas District Court. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Court documents reveal that both companies agree to dismiss all claims and counterclaims in the suit.Konami filed a lawsuit in 2008 (Konami Digital Entertainment Co. v. Harmonix Music Systems Inc., 08cv286, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Texas - Tyler) alleging that Harmonix's Rock Band instruments infinged on copyright held by Konami. Harmonix filed a suit in Boston Harmonix Music Systems Inc. v. Konami Digital Entertainment Co., 09cv10206, U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts - Boston) alleging that Konami's Rock Revolution infringed on its copyrights for Rock Band.
